The CWGK initiative is just further demonstration of KHS’s commitment to improving the quality of history education in Kentucky and across the Untied States by providing usable primary sources for use in the classrooms of K-20 educators. Keyword searchability; detailed annotations of relevant persons, places, and organizations; and rich subject matter will make CWGK documents easy to find and integrate into lesson plans in civics, economics, geography and history. The tens of thousands of documents accessible through CWGK will reveal a wide variety of historical voices and competing perspectives on the critical issues of the Civil War era, making it a powerful and rewarding tool for students and teachers working within the C3 Framework and Common Core.
